Cobra iRadar App Reviews

Couldnt be more disappointed

Maps consistently not working, alert doesnt stay on screen long enough for me to pick up my phone and confirm that the alert was real, not even to mention that the response is VERY laggy. Pairing app to radar unit is fairly simple - but requires a re-confirmation every single time I get in and out of my car. Going to go back to my old hidden radar system.

Happy User

Great update to the app! Works great with the community and I enjoy the live updates I can share with my fellow Cobra radar detector drivers.

I Hate Tickets

I think we all hate tickets. The guy in front of me this morning must not be running this App and iRadar. I was warned and noticed the speed limit dropping. He did not :). Thanks Cobra!

Just okay

App could use a UI overhaul and resolution support for the iPhone 6+, but my detector seems to work pretty well.

Not working

This could be a great app but its not working right now. The map is constantly blurt, doesnt load or display maps correctly. Itd be nice to be able to set my default view to dashboard instead of map. Want to be able to set my location services for this app to only when open because its destroying my battery life even when closed out of the app. Also it EATS DATA like nobodys business when you have it set to auto report. I get a text from ATT saying Im about to hit my data cap in one week of driving around with it on. Tested it through a cellular/wifi hotspot and it used 2.3gigs of data over a 700mi trip!

could be better

your app always tracks location when not using the app aka in turn running my battery life down works for the most part, not the best for response time by the time you get picked up on radar wish it tracked and was immune to "spectre" radar detector detectors, BUT over all could be bigger than it is...

Detector is good, app is not

Detector works well. Occasional gives a "train approaching" alert when I am no where near a train or train tracks. Doesnt learn common false signal locations well. But overall, it gives me a heads up on police radar sooner than I would know. The app annihilates my battery. 60-65% of my battery goes to this app. Its like having your GPS on while driving (not terrible for what it can do) PLUS 30-40 min after you get out of your car... Each time. Would be nice if you could verify the alarm verbally. Most states do not allow driver to operate cell phones (for good reason).

Was OK, now constantly closing.

This started off well, but recently the app keeps suddenly quitting for no good reason. It goes back to the screen when I left home in the morning! Ive tried reinstalling the app, but makes no difference. The radar detector is great, but the app has gone from good to awful. Please fix this fast.

Removed some option from app

I dont know why the new version dont have some options such as speed limit alert ??

Bad connection

Bad Bluetooth connection

memory leaks and crashes galore

This is the kind of app that gives mobile apps a bad name - they seem happy to just keep selling radar detectors while not bothering to update this app properly. The UI is still reminiscent of iOS 6 and earlier. Even on the top of the line iPhone 6S plus the app is crashing regularly. On iPhone 4S running the latest operating system (iOS 9.1) the app crashes with ridiculous frequency and it’s impossible to keep running in the background. It looks like an app that was handed to offshore development and never went through proper QA. The speed trap database does not seem to sync properly, either - user reported speed traps disappear after a while and there is no way to remove speed traps that are already in the system but don’t actually exist. On all iOS devices this app has highest resource consumption compared to any other app.

Just awful!!!

I read reviews of how bad this app is but after using it for only 10 minutes I was shocked how much worse it is. No turn by turn directions on the map, no voice directions, in fact other then showing the route nothing happened with the map except it kept spinning in circles. I didnt even see my car. No ability to add favorites so you would have to do it every time. Constant false alarms in the city that just keep sitting on the screen. No speed alert like in previous versions and as I said I just started using this. I cant imagine how much worse it gets. It showed an alert and in the corner it said I was doing 9 mph. I was actually doing 40. Completely useless unless youre on the open road and know where youre going and dont need a map. Unfortunately if you run Waze and you get an alert its in the background and you cant see it. It would great if the software the radar detector used was Waze. Unfortunately its not.

Cant wait to try out the DSP9200BT

This app consistently saves me from tickets and the community reporting works great.

Great product. Reliable & helpful.

If been using this for about a year now. It has always given me the advance warnings that I wanted when I bought it. Just be sure that you keep you BlueTooth turned ON when you get into your vehicle. ; )

Very easy to use and live speed trap updates

Needs Apple Watch addition

The app is decent. I wished there was an Apple Watch app to go along with the app. Also it would be nice to have a stealth mode on the display when connected to the unit. It would get 5 stars if it had the above items!

Almost perfect

This app needs a mph on the map thats all thats missing

Like the app

I like the program but it is locking up now and will not open. When I try to open it it take 20 seconds then shuts down.

iphone6+issue

i had this iradar200 for 2 years now.. it work perfectly on my iphone4s.. when i switch to 6s it wont pair vice versa..

Just compatible with one product.

I have a camera CDR855BT and a radarSPX 7800BT. Unfortunately the app wont allow to pair both devices and it would compromise the function of one when I have Bluetooth functions in both and you can use just one. Hopefully they update app.
